Dr. Christina Ma joined Waterloo Rheumatology in September 2025. She grew up in the Kitchener-Waterloo area and is excited to return home and care for the community. She completed her Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. She then completed her Medical Doctorate (MD), post-graduate residency training in Internal Medicine and subspecialty fellowship training in Rheumatology all at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. During this time Dr. Ma fulfilled leadership roles as Chief Resident in her final years of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology training. As a resident physician, Dr. Ma was awarded the Outstanding Resident Award and the Chief Medical Resident Award.
Dr. Ma's clinical interests lie in the diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune and rheumatic diseases, including inflammatory arthritis (such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis), systemic rheumatic diseases (such as systemic lupus, inflammatory myositis, and scleroderma), and vasculitis. She also has an interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound and completed the Canadian Rheumatology Ultrasound Society's Basic course in 2025.
